Narcissus tea is a famous tea created by tea farmers in Fujian. It is one of the fine varieties of Chinese tea and a type of Fujian oolong tea. It is native to northern Fujian. A thousand years ago, this tea tree existed in Jianyang and Jian'ou, but artificial cultivation was not until the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1662-1722) more than 300 years ago. Narcissus tea is listed as the first of the 48 "Chinese National Tea Tree Varieties" and the first of the 41 semi-arbor large-leaf tea tree varieties in the country. It is the only tea tree variety originated in Jianyang City, Fujian Province. The soup is orange-yellow, fragrant like orchids, and has a mellow and sweet taste. In 1985, it was recognized as a national variety by the National Crop Variety Approval Committee, numbered GS13009-1985.
